Final Preparations before take-off!

Hey all, I just wanted to lay down a few announcements coming to the Patreon, my travel plans, and some painting updates to share.

First off I want to thank all of my followers and paid subscribers to the Patreon. The start to 2024 has been tremendous with my largest spikes in growth since I started both Patreon (July 2023) & also the Pro Palette classic (my website). Being a full-time artist, teacher, and creator is a labour of love, sacrifice, and balancing that chequebook so I can keep doing what I love without going broke! Saving every penny and with tremendous help from my loving partner in life Terra, we are finally taking a holiday together after 5 years!

I will be taking 2 weeks vacation travelling to Japan! I'll be taking off Jan 23rd and back in 2 weeks February 6th. In that time I'll be away from, well everything lol. You may catch me hovering on Discord on a bit of downtime off my feet in my hotel room to peek at what you all are doing. But in that time I hope you are all busy painting, sharing, and helping each other out while I'm gone.

I have the full Live Stream of the Goblin Mercenary for next week's video release I did earlier this month. The video had to be re-cropped mid-way recording as OBS just decided to size my video down a notch for whatever reason. (My curse of live-streaming continues!) I had a blast doing this bust with you guys in session and will continue that when I return.

Chinese New Year is coming up fast on February 10th and it's the year of the Dragon 龍 Lóng. In celebration, I will be hosting a Painting Competition for my Patreon x Pro Palette Subscribers! From Feb 10 till the end of the month, you may submit a single model entry that is painted in the theme to ring in the new year. The prize will be a personal collection of lucky red paints that I love to use in my works sent out to the winner, along with a set of Scale75 inks. Awarding the winner on Feb 28th.

To keep in theme and also following up from the White Scars Storm Eagle painted for Legions Imperialis shown above. I'll be releasing a new vehicle tutorial covering a Thunderhawk Gunship that includes some freehand on that big hull. I've been experimenting with ways to bring more volume to these vehicle kits, along with some weathering to help give these a bit of character. All without making it too dirty and possibly losing the white identity.

Well, that's it for me for the time being. I wish you all a fantastic end of January and I'll see you folks when I return! If you want to follow my personal IG and my photographs through Japan, you can @turntosideb

Much love & Happy Painting,

Bb
